Synopsis

This drama is based on the best-selling comic Hitori Matsuri, which depicts the love and bonds between people. First running in 1985 as a serial comic strip, it went on to gain popularity among female readers, and was later published as a paperback. It is still widely read today.

Kaoru Matsuzono has almost everything in life that she could hope for. That is except for a child. Tormented by the fact that she is unable to bear children for her loving husband Takashi, Kaoru turns to Haruna Saeiki for help. "I want you to bear my husband's child," says Kaoru to Haruna, who dreams of becoming a doctor, but has almost given up on that dream because she can't afford the steep tuition.

There is one condition though..."I want you to have the child naturally. In other words, sleep with my husband," Kaoru tells Haruna.

Kaoru sees herself in Haruna, and that is why she wants natural conception. Soon after, Haruna becomes pregnant with Takashi's baby. Though this "contract" guarantees her tuition in return for giving up the child, Haruna can sense both a new "life" and yearning for Takashi's love growing inside her.

The first few episodes of this story tell the story of Haruna's romance with Takashi, while Kaoru tries to intervene. Eventually Haruna gives up the child to the couple. The latter half of the story tells of the child that later finds out the truth surrounding their birth. --Fuji TV
